Looking for some information regarding clutch engagement on a MXZX 440. Currently the sled engages somewhere around 5500 - 6000 rpm and want to soften up for a trail application. Softer spring and weights? if so any recommendations?

Less initial spring mainly, weights will help but depends on where its shifting out to. Softer initial spring pressure with same finish rate would be a start. If its not shifting out all the way then start looking at weights IMO.

If your clutch is the original TRA clutch you have six settings on it. You can adjust these up or down. I would get a owners manual and look at how the settings change engagement and top end RPM. One thing I know is if you drop engagement on the TRA you drop top end. If you don't have owners manual maybe go see your nearest Skidoo dealer and asked them about adjusting the clutch.
