I am not a small guy. Therefore I find the 1 1/4 track on my switchback isn't very good when you venture off the beaten path. The sled works too hard to get momentum. I am think about gettin a 1 3/4 or 2 inch for it but I was wanting an opinion on weither it would be worth extending it to 144 at the same time given I am going to be buying a new track?

any opinion would help...

Thanks
Wade

I have an 08 600 Switchback and just this year put on an 1 1/2" camoplast intense track. I find that it pushes through the snow awesome and you don't loose much top end (maybe 1 or 2 mph). I kept my 136" just cause I like the way it handles on the trails. I guess it all depends on what kind of riding you do. I am in the 180 lbs range and found no difference from last year when I was 10 lbs lighter.

i think a 144 1" 3/4 track would be perfect.

x2, go bigger than 2 inch lugs and you have to change your gearing

144 rail extensions and tunnel extensions from tracks usa, and a 144 1.75 track. If your going to spend money on the track the extensions aren't that much more.

People can say all they want about rail extensions, i had a 136 kit on my 121 edge and i never bent them and im 240lb.

I was in Cycle works west yesterday and they had extensions for $50 on their clearance table. I think they were 121 - 136...
