Found a holiday trailer to buy but it was originally bought in the states. I have a buddy who can do the safety, but is there a lot of other messing around to get it registered and insured?

has it already been imported to Canada? If so, who ever imported it should get the Canadian Tire inspection (for Federal). Otherwise very simple.

crappy tire inspection is free after doing the RIV.
Step 1, pay for RIV. step 2, pay gst. step 3, crappytire inspection for sticker. step 4, enjoy.

not 100% sure but if he didn't import it he is unable to apply for the RIV / Crappy Tire inspection. The importer has to do that. Maybe I am wrong??

Sorry should have specified. As far as I know the trailer has been used for a couple years in alberta already. Going to talk to the people tomorrow.

If its already registered in Alberta then you will have no issues.
