yeah if you get the pipe too it will but you don't really lose that much weight...best is BMP pipe and can more hp and less weight....but I think the slp can might fit the stock pipe
SLP's website shows a different part number for the 2013's, and they cost an extra $20. Looking at the instructions it seems the extra cost would be for some heat tape and velcro to cover the carbon fibre cross members. They claim it saves an extra 0.8lbs on the 2013's, which I'm thinking means the stock pipe weighs more on the new sleds.
They did that from 2011 to 2012 as well and SLP made a little spacer to adapt the bottom mounting position. So if it is the belt that changes things up I would assume the Assault doesn't change?? Pipe and can should be the same as the 2012??
@BLEIB...no need to worry. I like reading all the posts, and I've already got all the info I need for the 2013 cans. Feel free to post whatever ya want
The can on top is from my 2011 assault RMK and the can on the bottom is from my 2013 Pro RMK. The only change is the mount at the bottom with the old using a 2 pin system and the new using a hanger on the lower frame.
Old:
New:
Instead of going out and buying a new can because it won't work you could always take your can to a shop and get them to modify it to work, or simply buy the bracket from a 11 or 12 and put it on your 13
Just posting back my reply from SLP in terms of their 2012 Stage 2 kit which includes their pipe, can, power commander V, and clutching.
1) Will a 2012 Stage 2 kit work on the new 2013 Pro RMK 800? Answer: The pipe for the 2012 RMK will not fit the 2013 RMK due to the fact that Polaris changed the mounting brackets which forced us to change ours to match. The rest of the parts in the stage 2 kit will cross over to the 2013.
2) Will a 2012 Stage 2 kit work on the new 2013 Assualt 800? Answer: The pipe for the 2012 RMK will not fit the 2013 Assault due to the fact that Polaris changed the mounting brackets which forced us to change ours to match. The rest of the parts in the stage 2 kit will cross over to the 2013.
And there you have it! Confirms what Chrisco said in an earlier post.
