2008 sportsman 400 ho

My sons quad started acting up at camp the other day it will start and drive then quit just like the key was shut off now it will run but when I hit the 4x4 button it quits if anybody has any ideas let me know. Thanks

Hopefully, you don't have a short or bad connection. I've seen kinda goofy things like this happen to a Sportsman with a bad stator and/or voltage regulator - it's easy to check, so I'd start there. I found you a link with some info: Stator Testing? sportsman 450 - Polaris ATV Forum
