Going to put a turboed Apex motor in a 2014 RZR 1000 chassis. Transplanted lots of motors in my day so it shouldn't be too big a problem. 08 Apex motor fully built with a 2871 turbo. I'm planning on only running pump gas, around 12lbs of boost most of the time. Should be 250 plus HP. Just getting some of the parts organized now. Gonna be a fun project.

This is probably for sand/so a little easier on it than 32 inch mud tires.....I would guess.
None the less , you build some neat chit ! Will it be ready for down south ?

I would certainly recommend upgrading the following as I blew all this on mine quite easily.
Driveshaft and steady bearing. And the transmission. Ended up costing me in excess of $4800 and I did all the work myself.

The trans-axle/transmission is supposed to take the power if a guy is careful. OSP is running huge power with this same trans-axle and hasn't hurt it yet. I know of a few other M1100 turbo and Apex builds that have had decent luck with the trans-axle. Plus this thing is mostly for duning, which helps a bit. :) The driveshaft and steady bearing are definitely a problem. This support from Sand Craft is supposed to fix it. Do you have an Apex motor in a 1000 Ron?

Hopefully have it ready for late spring. I want to take to St Anthonys in July. I'm missing the whole winter season at Glamis and Yuma desert riding. Took it down to my place at Yuma, the beginning of December, and proceeded to do this on the first trip to the desert from my place. LOL. 15 lbs of boost on stock rods with do this. :nono:

Put in a few hours on the weekend. Got the motor saddle mounted and aligned and the mock-up motor lined up and installed. Gonna use the sled intercooler, got it set up as well. Got the clutches lined up and the gauge installed. Gonna tackle the header and exhaust this weekend.

Got the turbo mocked up approximately where I want it. Gonna build the header out of the sled header. Much cheaper than building one from scratch. Got a set of 28 X 13 Sand Blaster #2's that should work good in the dunes. :)

My favorite CaptJack transplant was the 670 DooDoo motor in the old Scrambler ATV!

I almost forgot about that old thing Dave. That thing went like crazy, wheel speed was awesome!! It was a lot of fun back in the day.

Got a bit more done on this project. Secondary clutch came in, nice piece! :d Got the throttle pedal bracket, pedal and cable run. Modded the cable bracket on throttle bodies for the RZR cable. Built a fuel system with an external pump. Got the motor and clutches lined up, big job with this engine saddle.:( Used an asbestos blanket to keep the heat off the tranny etc. Did a little wiring, that's a huge job, modding both wiring harness's! Overall, it's coming along nice. :)
