Personal opinion and no offence to those that ride responsibly on their bikes. But as far as im concerned these things you should have a licence and some sort of plate on them to hold people accountable.. Im sick of seeing people riding these on the walking path as fast as they can (going way faster than the traffic on the street) weaving around people that are enjoying the day, its only a matter of time before one of these idiots hit someone and kill them. its not just the young people i have seen all ages doing this.. Heck i have even had some pass me on the street..

A good product for the people that do not have the strength to use a standard bike or bad knees like me, but the rest of you that are quite capable of riding a standard bike quit being so lazy...LOL.. i use to love riding my bike and miss it..
I’ve been riding ebikes for three years now. Imo. What is. The people who fly the trails are the commuters on the 10 speeds with the shaved legs.
🦵 your comment on being lazy for riding a e bike. Myself at 53. I could kick most dudes asses on anything with bars. The reason I personally ride a ebike is I like the reward of power for all my hard work. A quick 50 km ride through Edmonton River trails all around downtown etc. sends ya home tired. E bikes are still work if you keep the assist turned down, obviously it can be lazy if you just throttle around.
But licenses is crazy. Comes back to users, not sharing. Homebodies hate people outside, walkers hate people. Riding peddle bikes, peddle bikers hate dirt bikes. And so. Sad 😞

Us e-bikers need too start bumping folks off our trails...

Naaaa,,, we're not like that since the majority of us pedal-bike and e-assist riders are welcoming folks ,,, its not our fualt that bird watchers want too stand in a hollow behind a mtb jump...

Nothing like a pedal in the face...

Lets face it,,, the majority of folks are spot on,,, We don't need no stinking rules,,, Canada and the world are full of rules...

Rules suck...

Education and beer will better human existence,,, if not then perhaps war in some poor country...

Maybe we can pass along a e-bike law onto them if theres anything left... lol

I vote negative on any futher laws coming from the dim individual I am...

Just Saying is all...

Good idea, license and plate sure has stopped all the idiots so far from speeding, drunk driving, driving like idiots in general with motor vehicles...

I see those on the bike trails in red deer all the time, some times quads even.

I suggest you go and demo an ebike if you enjoyed riding bikes, I guarantee you will be taking it home.
That's funny.....I usually give people the same warning, but word it differently. I say don't demo one unless you're ready to spend the money, because they are that good
