Priced out of the market? Lol, nope not on my end, but I pay cash for my sleds.
I have a very low mileage 2023 that works amazing, and it’s paid for. With what doo released, and the low snow, along with the crappy used market, I didn’t snocheck and I usually upgrade every two years. The little upgrades that the 2025 have Can be kinda done to the older models.

Don't know what you are talking about, this week has been awesome. Stay out of the meadows.

ive had some good days myself, but not until later in the year once a lot of folks had already wrote off the season. Most areas in BC are still low on base by a substantial amount even though there is "fresh" to be had. For guys that have ridden along time why bother when your tip toeing around.

This is the first year i can remember where alot of die hard guys i know didnt even fire up the sled this year. That effects sales

Another thing this is not just a brp deal. Poo might be worse , a ch!t ton of new 23 s at dealerships . A lot of kiijii inventory in ne Alberta
Yes it must be worse for Poo because they were late to delivery last season so many guys walked away from their 23 snowchecks. Doo had most out before Christmas but Polaris lots after Chrsitmas. Now many of those 23's are flooding the market. Next issue is stop ride recalls. Polaris has hurt their reputation and some guys won't snowcheck until they feel these are over. Finally both Poo and Doo did not offer much new. This is a factor and can be proven by Cat's better snowcheck numbers.

ok but cat didnt release anything new, doo and poo guys have been riding 850s for 8 years. Those snowchecks are cat guys that were just waiting for Cat to do literally anything. The sled performs with the 850s no more no less so its not New IMO, new to cat i guess!! as much as it pains me to say it the 9R is a better performing better value machine than the cat 858 as far as NA sleds go

I am 100% behind @maxwell and @Caper11 here. I been doo since the late 80's, had 3 years with a Yamaha Nytro, then back to skidoo. My dirt vehicle is a 2014 mint razor. I tried a polaris a few years ago in Valemount, borrowed Trish's sled for a rip, not for me, felt cheap, I was running a 2022 Turbo Skidoo then, then I sold that as snowchecked a 2023, Last year had a blast, that sled was crisp and clean, flawless on 91 pump gas. That was only a 640 km season. This season has sucked for snow and for my health, suffering from a major stoke to both sides at the back of my brain. I got real lucky and have not been affected that bad and am having an incredible recovery. I made it out to the mountains a week ago for 2 days, thanks to @catmando and @BrianH. Don't think I have much more than 800 km now. Typically I get rid of my sleds and snow check every 2 years, not this time. This sled is 100% paid for and has been flawless. I'll get the aftermarket 4 year warrantee and keep it for at least 2 more seasons. Save my money put it in to some mods like shock upgrades. Always nice having a new one but this thing is still new and isnt any better as what is coming out of the factory. Also my body tells me to be easy on it Money is tighter too and for the price of toys, all of them, its better to keep them longer. My other toy is a 2012 Harley Dyna wide glide, fixed that up and wont be trading or upgrading that either.

I can’t wait to hear your ride report on the 858 from Allen this weekend. Snowest might even hire you after your review…

I’m excited to give it an honest rip. I just hope they have the “new” calibrations but that’s not what I’ve heard from the field. Will be tough to put my brain back in NA mode but I’ll try lol

Reminds me of the stock hp turbo that was "a game changer". Wasn't the aftermarket building those for 15 years first? Except they were just a tad bit more than stock hp...

Kinda the same deal here, the brand loyal go bananas for something new.

165hp at 8k feet which would still be a pile more than the 858 cat lol. At that time, everyone on the internet always said “ I just want my stock HP at altitude” which is what was delivered…..4 years ago.

If you’re comparing a factory first 2 stroke turbo with 2 years of warranty to an 8cc bump in an old chassis I guess in my mind that’s not really a good comparison.

But you are right, brand loyal do enjoy new stuff to compliment a product they already enjoy.

Problem with the cat release is that the loyal CAT guys wanted a fire breathing dragon and they got a chihuahua. But it does prove your point, because they did buy them

Just curious where you ride at 8k feet in BC, the highest I have been is 7200 and there was no riding to be had, just killer views.

Plenty of 8000+ in the Golden area. Chatter, Hope Goodfellow, Gorman. Seen 9400 in Parsons years ago. It’s out there Claude
