hummm tranny in a sled

i just seen this on kijiji had to post it zr 700 just had the tranny rebuilt humm must have an 18 speed in it that was a rare model

Hey, I just read an article saying they want to come out with auto shift model. The article said you could switch to manual shift mode for the big pulls....

thats like the guy that has a 02 summit 500 with an 800 enginein it. out of a formula 800. unit is an s chassis sled with a rotery valve engine in it. and only a twin. says he bought the engine off ebay and its out of a 99 formula 800? where they not a triple? also still s chassis sled didn't they end in 01 with the 500 model? its a steal though at 3500.00

Other than a relative few motors out there (like very few, like very very very few), there was no factory rotary valve 800 ever produced. The 800's were a case reed motor. There was also no Formula 800. There was a multitude of Formula badges, but the only ones I can remember that wore the 670 decal in the Formula brand were the Formula SS in 1995 (670), and the Formula Z (670) with the ARC rear suspension. The remaining Formula models were 583's, 500's and down to the 377 (Formula S, SL, S electric, Deluxe)

The Formula III was offered in a 600 triple with triple pipes, or a 700 with a single pipe. The Mach 1 was the triple/triple that Ski Doo offered that year in the 700 triple displacement. In 1999, the only 800's that Doo offered were the 800 triple in the Formula III and the Mach Z. None of the Ski Doo triples ever came in an S-chassis body, they were only offered in the F-chassis and then the CK3.

In a nutshell - buddy either doesn't know what he's talking about, bought a reed valve motor and thinks its a rotary :rolleyes:, has a bored and sleeved 670 rotary, or is lying. Doubtful that sled is a steal when you don't know what motor is in it. Hard to buy parts for an 800 twin rotary valve motor Ski Doo never produced. :)
