I would consider a small commuter car for working in town but I can score a beater for $1000 instead of whatever the electric ones cost..... I could fuel it forever, saving my own planet pocket book lol

If that's your goal there is no way an electric car would touch your total cost (ownership/fuel/maintenance per km).

Lol, vehicles don't need to idle 15-20min every trip. If it is really cold, plug it in, idle for a few minutes and just take it easy for a bit.

I've burnt 21,000 liters of diesel in my deleted F350 in the last 5 years, no one seems to care about that, .

There are more fuel efficient vehicles out there than a ford f 350 you know? I drive a big truck too, but fuel economy wasn't a factor in my buying desision.

That argument doesn’t make sense. That’s like saying what happens if you get stuck on Rogers pass in -20 with less than a quarter tank of fuel. At least there is a charger at the pass. Don’t think there are any gas stations however.

I still believe hybrid is the way to go on long journeys. If your in the city than full electric is the best option IMO, but not every one can afford to have multiple cars and trucks in the yard.

I do see a cost increase in power for all of us with the increase of power consumption. Supply and demand, simple economics, I’m hoping there is more power plants to be built soon.

Would I own a full electric car? Probably not, it does not suit my needs for the cost, and I think it would be more trouble than it’s worth. I do wonder what the cost of a full recharge is at a charging station.
Also Makes me wonder how long the batteries will last in severe conditions? And whats the cost to replace those batteries? Only time will tell?

I point to the fact of how much it has increased in the past few years, how about you try to prove it wont increase? Your vision in the matter appears to be the one flawed in my opinion.

I'm not saying it won't increase, it will increase at the same rate as the fuel it is generated from or at least very close to the same rate. thanks This won't really apply to BC, those rates are set by your communist government.

Not sure I agree with that. We haven't had to pay the piper yet for phasing out our coal which is over a billion not including costs to replace that generating hole the NDP created.

We have known coal power is to be phased out by 2030 since Stephan Harper mandated it in 2008. This is nothing new.

Lol, not once did I say anyone should go out and buy one. My responses have been based solely on the emissions an electric car produces and the cost to power one compared to gasoline, don't try to read further into it.
