so, 44% of the sleds have gone through a belt and 22% have blown multiple belts?? ....hopefully more guys reply to your thread to bring those averages down

No, 4 out of 18 had 1 or more belts blow. The rest are on original belts. 22% of the sleds have had a belt issue but the ones that have had issues are eating more than one in most cases.

my bad...I read it wrong

but even at 22%....that's almost 1 in every 4 with issues...if this is true, it's not good....I realize that you only have 18 guys reporting to this thread and hopefully more with no issues will come forward to bring the percentage down

it sounds like an awesome machine but BRP needs to act now.

200km on original belt only felt removed from cover. Adjusted belt after 125km or so once I felt some vibration on clutch side. Been good since.

154" x 3".. I removed all foam and baffling before it's first ride and thoroughly cleaned my clutches and belt. I continue to clean my clutches every ride and set deflection. First belt lasted under 300kms and that was 150kms of not much snow, early season riding where I was not riding the hell out of it yet. First really deep day, that belt exploded at the end of the day.

2nd belt has technically not yet blown but has started to delaminate. It is a gates carbon belt that I thought I would try because I don't want to give BRP any more of my money. I rode hard that day and broke the belt in gently before hand. It delaminated in one day! This is crazy, unacceptable bull crap!

BRP needs to step up and do something for us! This is a serious slap in the face after paying this kind of money for a new sled and being told that they won't warranty any belts. My friends with 850's are all blowing belts and pulling cords as well, and I swear I better not hear that tool Norona chime in and say something stupid about taking foam out, cleaning clutches, breaking in belts or the problem being that we are pinning it in deep snow! What in the hell was the sled made for? Makes a guy pretty angry to say the least.

Anyone having these problems needs to call BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222 and make a case file about it! The more they get, the better chance we have of getting some much needed help. Pretty sure most of us can not afford to blow belts every 200kms.

Maybe a bit harsh, but sick and tired of being told that it's my fault for whatever reason they pull out of their hats. Ski-Doo needs to own up to the problem and stop denying it. They know there is a problem or they wouldn't be telling people to gut out foam and baffling and start drilling holes.

I'm not reading through 30 pages of bitching to populate these stats. I feel your pain as I got one of these bastards too but keep this to stats and rant on the belt issue thread. A few pages of legitimate stats will have more power showing BRP the issues than 30 pages of opinions.

If guys that have previously posted have updated KMs and belt #s, could you please edit your original posts rather than posting another...will be a little easier to track. Thanks guys!!

Hmmmm.... I rented an 850 from Mike at snow peak rentals in golden, and he has 6 of them all on original belts, with a combined 4000+ kms on all 6 of which 1 is new(the one I rode). We rode in deep pow all day and did a lot of hard pulls... Consistent 8000rpm every pull, everywhere. We rode it like a rental, hit a few things, rolled it a few times, and it was a pleasure to ride. Clutch temps didn't feel too much worse than my 800 163", or my old t3 174" from what I can remember. Too bad they don't have a temp sensor on the clutch

Tim at motor tech claims they have not had one back with a belt issue. They had one guy in who bought from another dealer that had belt issues but only one they have seen.
