No. I'm saying if it's unsafe, why am I allowed to put it on the safety glass which surrounds my children in the back.

I always thought the unsafe aspect of tinted windows was that others could not see the driver and my not know what his/her intentions are at a stop sign or intersection. I once came upon a truck with tinted windows. It was on my right at a stop sign. The truck suddenly lurched forward then stopped. I slammed the brakes on and sat there like a meat pie not knowing what the guy was doing or what his intentions were. Couldn't see him. Couldn't tell if he was seeing me or having a fight with his bride or what. Finally he rolled his window down and waved me on.

I just got a ticket for tinted windows and a full safety inspection notice on my truck...I asked the cop why a full safety inspection? his exact words were "Cause I Can" ...what a joke....cant fight the inspection here in BC but I did go talk to a higher up.....inspection dropped.....so the way I said to the higher up was "if the law says its 109 bucks for tinted windows and 100 plus for inspection why is it costing me over 200 bucks for something that the law says should only cost me 109 buck?" I asked the Sargent why this cop was such an a$$ hole......his words were "I know the guy and he is not from this detachment but highway patrol......they are bread to be a$$ holes" now Im blind as a bat from the sun and bright lights......never in my life have I had so many close calls from accidents in the last month since I removed my tint......Im looking into doing my window with the electro film that I can change from dark to light with a switch..... when the power is off like when you shut the truck off,it goes solid......when driving I can set it to how dark I want......when I see a cop I just flick the switch to clear........

Don't they make sunglasses for that purpose?

That sounds like rocket science, LMFAO!

All glass in a vehicle built in the last 70 years has had safety glass installed. It is designed to shatter into thousands of small pieces and not be sharp. If you are really using tint to hold the pieces together, and your excuse to having tint is safety you should consider not driving.

If you are tinting any window as a means of safety, it should be your windshield. That would restrict the small amount of dust becoming airborne when the Fire Dept cuts your windshield out to extricate you. But that like 1:1,000,000 chance.

Has anyone had their side window smashed with tint on? I have, and maybe I'm the one in a million but both times that they were smashed there was no shards, just thousands of little pieces just like there was no tint. The only difference was the tint held everything together and didn't go all over the inside of my truck.

How often do you get your windows smashed in? I suggest moving somewhere safer. You could also buy a Dodge 3500, they come stock with laminated side window glass.

Both times were a rock from lawn mowers. Once parked on the street and the guy mowing his lawn didn't see anything. The other was good ol ma. Gotta a sorry and supper out of it. And already run the ram 3500 with tint.

Buddy of mine had the same thing happen in morinville, probably the same cop. Scratched the window so he got out of it the second time.

Thats your choice. IF you think its not safe around your kids, then dont do it, There are alot of things that are not safe that we are allowed to do.

You are missing my point. This is what I said to the cop. Why get ticketed because I'm beside an unsafe window when my kids are allowed to be.
