I have owned a 2004 Summit and I now I have a 2015 Summit T3. I'm looking to purchase another used summit and I was wondering about the XP? How does the XP chassis compare to the older summit and the newer summit? I have heard people say that they prefer the older summit chassis compared to the XP? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

I really like my Xp. I've had it for 4 seasons now,has just rolled over 4k Kms and it's still going strong. I prefer it over my buddies 174 T3, but that's probably just cuz I'm used to mine.i wouldn't hesitate to pick up a good used Xp. The old revs seem to run fine too, but there pretty fugly IMO......

had an 09 xp and my 13 xm was way better. The T3 is better yet. I wouldn't be able to go back to an XP. I would definitely never go back to an 800R motor. The etech is by far a better way to go.

Anyone that says the REV is better than an XP simply had way more seat time on a rev and never gave the XP a proper chance. my 2012 was my favorite sled until the T3. GREAT machine!

I would tend to stay away from the 800R as well. The eTecs are a way more dependable motor. The chassis from 2013 up with the flex track, T-motion, narrowed stance, etc. are much better than the XP, IMHO. I have rode both and put a lot of kms on each year from 2008 to present.

In answer to your question and if you don't like the T3 or want a change, then 2013 and 2014 would be the best choices.

I love the T3. I'm just going to be looking for another sled for the wife. There is some great deals on 2010 2012 that's why am inquiring how good that chassis. I appreciate all your input. The biggest thing I'm trying to decide is it worth spending the extra money to get a 2013 or 2014 or 2012 be just as good. My wife is a decent rider and we want to get into more tree riding.

I have all 3 sleds, rev xp, xm. The rev is up for sale and I have done everything to make it handle better. The xp as been upgraded with he tmotion skid. The xm is still a nice sled to play on. but my 12 xp ptec is not a bad sled ,just not quit the same as the xm.

I have an 154"08 XP 800X and a 163"14 XM 800X, I have been mountain riding since 1996 on a 156"Summit S chassis and several 151"& 159"ZX Summit's and found that the XP did not side hill especially in marginal snow as well, so I did the 2010 rear skid upgrade, S-36 narrowing kit, and T-Motion upgrade and now find the sled acceptable(not a Bison)
But when I switch back and forth between the sleds I realize that the XM is so much better, Perhaps it is the flex edge track and steering post geometry but I probably will never know as I am done trying to improve the XP, I will buy a used 174" T-3 next year and keep my 14 XM as my spare instead of the XP.
