What would you buy for a diesel truck?

So I'm going to replace the 2005 King Ranch 6.0L. I'm looking at a 2012 Longhorn Crew with the 6.7, but what about the 2012 King Ranch F250 or the 2013 GMC 6.6L Denali. Have you guys or gals got anything to say good or bad about these three trucks.

I have the 2012 dodge mega longhorn and only one tank soon will be done and will have just over 800 km and most of it in town, that is krazy and not broke in yet...I love the truck and having trouble going back to work and stop driving truck LOL

Dodge all the way. There is some big rebates on them now too. $10,000 of sticker price, then you can start bartering with them for more.

I have a 2012 Longhorn Mega 3500 and LOVE it...I only buy Dodge, but its the best one Ive had yet. Full deletes and H&S chip with the tranny software, and WOW. Its a beast and I get great mileage with it....so nice to drive as well...

I have a 12 Denali. Awesome truck. 9-12litres / 100km normal driving. And 12-16litres/100 km towing my 25ft 5th wheel.

wow i have a 2012 dodge 3500 for a welding truck and i am lucky if i get 20l/100km maybe it is because there is only 350km on ,...

I have a 2012 Duramax "ultimate gfx" edition. Before doing dpf delete I was getting about 800-900km to a tank. Now with full dpf and urea deletes I am getting over 1400km to a tank. Not to mention its a complete animal! I was raised a GM guy and will probably die a GM guy so I am pretty biased. Just test drive the truck you would want from all 3 and buy the one you like the best.

Hmmm.... Is this on a stock fuel tank ? Or you must have a titan tank or something, cause them are some big numbers for a newer Duramax.

Yup stock tank. So 130-135 L tank. All I have is an air intake, as it was cheaper to put one in for the long haul. No delete kits...
I drive a lot. About 3500km a month. The fuel economy is consistent. Would love to lift it, but I'm getting such good mileage.

It's the stock tank. 130L or so. That is also highway driving 110-125kph. I have never gone that far to see but I have seen over 1400km on my range. (Range shows a max of 999km but if you put it into miles and convert it, it works out.)

Hand calculate your mileage using 3.88 for the conversion to a US Gal. There is no FN way anyone is getting over 20 mpg without water/meth, propane or CNG added to it in an LMM or LML truck. H&S ain't that good. Even if it was an empty RCLB 2wd thats tough. The DIC on these trucks are not accurate. Especially when you change tire sizes. I've been tuning and working on Dmax trucks since '05. And I've only ever heard of hand calculated numbers in the mid 20's a handfull of times and it was a fluke-not consistant (tailwind, 90km/hr hwy driving, sea level air). And nobody gets a 10mpg increase from a dpf and urea delete. It just doesn't happen. 3-5 tops!

I can guarantee I'm getting the mileage. I fill up, reset the odometer, and drive. I get between 1200-1350 km constantly.

I have a 12 Sierra and I'm getting 10-11 L/100 km empty. Pulling 41 ft 14 000 lbs 5th wheel I'm getting 17-18 L/100Km. Truck is stock. It regens once every 8000+/-100 km. No logic into deleting the dpf and urea.

Let me guess, you obviously drive something other then a GMC or chev? Funny how 3 others on here also get same fuel econ...

i drive a new chevy duramax and it is ch!t on fuel and my new superduty its worse on fuel but my superduty i have 400 liters onboard so it seems like great fuel milage :rolleyes: pulling my race trailer 34 liters/100 going to radium to the car show a month ago but i am sure with your truck i could have got half that haha funny every one that i talk to that pulls big race trailers with there chevy get the same milage as i get but what do i know

I got a new 2012 f-350, Nice truck for off-road, If I was in town most of the time I would be in a Chevy/GMC, I really really don’t like the dodge dealers here so dodge is out for me. All I can say is if you are looking at a new Ford check out Art Barry Ford in Leduc by far the best price I found, more than 10k less from other dealers on the same truck (I mean that specific truck as it was on Vancouver island “Dual alternators”) when I came to pick it up she was fueled up running (It was a little cold out) and all of my paper work had them little sign here tags, In and out in under 30 min.
