Associate Specialist Planner for a private company(has to remain private, security reasons) who has a military contract for building brand new LAV 111 Armoured Personel Carriers for our defense department. My job is to make sure the production line has their parts to build these war machines. Only thing I miss about not being on the production side is standing in the turret during road tests on public street. Love the looks, waves and honks we get.
Anyway I work hard so that my family and I can enjoy camping/ quadding with wonderful friends(all whom we have met on this web site and Outlaws) sledding and riding the goldwing.

Hubby is a mechanic with CN rail. We are practically empty nesters and that suits me just fine. Just hubby and I enjoying life.

Cool occupation!! Working in production of those machines would be very cool

24 years old, journeyman heavy equipment tech. I work on construction equipment. I played with mining equipment but I prefer the civil construction iron, its a little easier to work on and manage haha. I get my jollies from anything fast generally, guns, hunting, quadding and spending a decent amount of time in the gym.

I Love to spend time at the acreage with my beautiful fiancé and two dogs (black lab named Sierra and a border collie named Hailey). For my hobbies, I love to quad (12 Outlander XT1000), camp, fly fish and play golf in the summer. In the winter I absolutely love crushing fresh powder on my 12 freeride.

I am 32 and work as a b-pressure welder and shop foreman for a small welding shop in Nisku. I quad, camp, hunt, fish, RC cars, anything out doors for hobbies but would have to say sledding is my favorite of all! And am must be crazy cause welding is a close second favorite. I like to build and create stuff, and like taking pride in a job well done. I have plans in the future of owning my own shop. And I should say I just got married this February 22 in Revy. And got a 13 year old step daughter.

Revive a dead thread here, but would be interested to hear what people do for work. I'm a heavy equipment operator, and farmer. Quads, guns, trucks, equipment, mechanics, cattle, and horses are some of my hobbies.
Something new at work, a brand new D8T, had 50 hours on it the first day i sat down in it. Still smells new!

45 yr old welder/fitter with a level1 visual inspection ticket. Work in Nisku. Quaddin, dirtbikin and boatin in the summer along with campin at the lakelot every weekend. Huntin in the fall and sleddin when the snow flies. Don't get to the hills nearly as often as I would like but da wife and da boy also ride so I still have lots of fun sleddin in Alberta. Sleddin is #1 on my list.

Forgot to mention on some down time I enjoy some Xbox One.

Cool D8!!! That's a little bigger than the JD 350b's I use around the farm lol
Yeah for sure a wee but bigger. But in all honesty, this is a brand new d8 I think it may be in some hidden break in period but I feel like our 2006 d8t we had last year had more juice. In October I almost bought it but the bank called me 20 minutes after the auction ended. It sold for $101,000, brand new undercarriage, rebuilt transmission, and motor was strong. Plus it was fully equipped with positive air shut off, fire suppression kit and extra valve for a ripper or winch. Either way bank turned me down on an equipment loan but wanted to give me over 3 times the money for a house instead.
Really liked the vid man! Nice work.
Thanks! I went out on a limb with that music but I thought it kind of went with the video. Here's a better picture of the 8

There's so many different variables on prices, what track grouping, dual tilt, straight/semi/U blade, ripper, winch, and so on. But from what I understand on the unit I am running the mechanic said something like 600,000 or 700,000 I couldn't really hear him through the engine bay when a service truck got called for a tilt ram o ring failure and a motor oil leak. I don't know if that was including taxes or taxes in. It's a very rough estimate, but when you see used 6's going for $450,000+ it makes you wonder.
