Riding Nordegg area?

Hey guys I've been working out in the bush and have had little to no cell service. Just recently heard nordegg has been evacuated due to fire. Now does anyone know where the fire is and if the town is still evacuated. We had plans to go ride in the Saunders area but now we are wondering if we should just avoid the nordegg area all together. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

The fire is east and south of nordegg.

Think Saunders will be fine. It's not that east of nordegg.

Just make sure to keep the fires in control.

The fire is just west of nordegg south on the trunk road near the industrial park and sewage lagoons and heading to words the mine site

You are probably best to avoid the area. It makes things rather difficult for fire fighters to ensure everyone is out when people keep pouring in. I also recommend not visiting the Brazeau area as we have a very large fire burning near Lodgepole and the highway to the trails is blocked.

There is a fire ban on for that whole area so no fires at all.

it still needs to be posted to keep people aware. There is also rumor that they may be closed longer this year than in previous years due to repairs needed.
