So I have an 08 M1000 sno Pro.
I got a speedwerx y to put on it. Also looking at a thing can for it.
Can I run the speewerx y with the stock pipe and the thing can without a fuel controller?

Cheers,
Rick

Not on the '07's. Not sure what mapping changes they made in '08, but I'd bet against it.

Good day. I ride an 08 M1000 with aftermarket Y pipe and a few other minor mods. No need for a controller on my sled. Never hurts to install egt gauge to keep an eye on things.

Running a y pipe and a can can leave you vulnerable to running lean in the mid-range. We would recommend using some type of fuel controller or fuel management system. We would recommend a Boondocker or Pro Logic.

How is the Power Commander 5? Easy to use? What settings would I use with a speedwerx y pipe, stock pipe and a jaws can?
Don't know about this mapping stuff.

Thanks in advance,
Rick

I would go with the Boondocker, easier to use. The stock maps are pretty rich, u will need to read plugs and use EGTs or A/F ratio to determine if you can take fuel out.

So this is what I got.
08 M1000 Sno Pro.
Speedwerx y pipe, stock pipe, Jaws can.
Dual egts, Power commander 5.
Where can I find a reliable map for the pc5 that will work good with my m1000?
I have not added any of these parts yet.
Anyone else running this combo by chance?

If all your doing is changing the Y pipe out, there is no need for a controller.
If your dead set on a controller then your options are to Dyno with a custom map or PC5 with Auto Tune.

You need to check if your 08 was reflashed with 09 fuel map. This was very common for the 08's. Fuel map is very different between the two years. My 08 was not reflashed and my boondocker box is set with a lot of negative numbers under 6500 rpm to get it to run right. Unless you have autotune for PC5, you will spend a lot of time with laptop building a map. While Boondocker has less adjustment points, it is much easier to adjust while riding.
