I just took a couple pics. My truck is. '13 F150 with the halogen headlights. First pic is the Bright Source HID conversion. Second pic is HID conversion and Rigid 20" E-Series mounted in the front bumper opening. Light is very good with the Bright Source kit, but it's awesome with the Rigid light bar.
Actually it lights up, down, sideways, and very far forward. I'm sure I could turn my HIDs off and not notice a difference. There is so much traffic on the back road I travel to work that I never get to use the light bar for very long at a time. That's where the HIDs come in.
I tried the LED replacement bulbs. They sucked. Have a new 2014 with the projector HIDs they are amazing bright but to front focused. Ditch lighting sucks and where I drive deer hazards are to high not to put out lights into the ditch. I have a 20" rigid going into the bumper opening. Only good thing is I can park inside at night to prevent light bars from vanishing.
I just did a Bright Source HID conversion on a 2015 GMC 2500 with factory projector lights and factory halogen bulbs. It's one of many of the same truck owned by the company I contract to. The operator who runs that truck says it's a 200% improvement. Lights up the ditches, but has a perfect cutoff line. He doesn't get flashed by anyone and can see 3-4 times further.
