voted...mine however probably don't mean much as it's a 1997....but even so I run supreme in all my machines...always have, never put much thought into the whole ethanol thing...I will probably avoid that now that I know...

unhooking the wire retards the timing. So if you run unplugged it stops the engine from burning down with ethenol fuels. Running with any other fuel uplugged is just wrong!!!!!

okay i'm typing right out of 06 owner manual
the recommended gasoline to use in these snowmobiles is 87 MINIMUM octane regular unleaded and fuel designation connector must be connected.
then goes on to tell about ethanol fuels and if useing to unplug.

Usually in my truck
I've got an 08 M8 and the dealer told me not to run premium fuel just regular. So far it is working great for me...

In my head
With the mods to my 800 it was recommended to run 91+ octane. No one can give me a "technical" reason as to why. Here at 2500' elevation in and around Edmonton I worked my way from 91 to 89 then to 87 and watched plugs/pistons. Now I run the 87 all the time. If I was dropping elevation I might go to 91.

Well I think I will throw some new plugs in it and try running regular fuel, sled has never seen anything but premium,Im thinking I may have got some water or bad fuel!
If that dont work I will try unplugging the ecu!
Thanks catmando!

run regular fuel in your Arctic cat, unless you have a bunch of mods. I've tried 91, and I noticed the sled wasn't as snappy.

Also when the ethanol plug is unplugged, it just richens the fuel mixture 3%

simmilar question...I guess...far as oil mix goes my sled says "use only Arctic Cat 50:1 oil mix" today I dumped 1/2 a liter of doo mix into it...anyone figure I f%&ed my sled...

I had just finished putting the new sprokets and chain on it and was horney for a rip after riding the wifes summit for the past 2 weeks...oil was low and it was what I had.
