Been out the last few days, Wapiti is really dropping, cleaning up nice and getting to be more fun. If it keeps dropping its gonna be challenging for some of the bigger higher degree boats for sure. Weird year on the rivers around here, seemed to stay high and muddy , then just dropped rapidly. Flooding made Lots of changes on the Wapiti, an awful lot of changes from the normal channels, but a ton of really nice new beautiful beaches. Took my mom out for a ride and a beache burger last week, she's 85, she still loves going.

Great pics

Put in at Watino on saturday , went down the Smoky to the Peace , then into Peace River , parked and walked up for a burger at a cafe in town, then back. First time for me on that section of Smoky , Nice run , big river all the way but you better be paying attention in a few places , its pretty evident why there ate so many wrecks during the races on that section , lots of big sneaky rocks , and lots of them tough to read. One of the guys with us has spent some time up there. , he showed us this petrified tree up a steep little wash , supposedly its been recorded and dated , over 2 million years old , kinda cool. Fun day.

What a way to end the long weekend.... stupid boat launch is absolutely junk. Can't see in through the murky water at the launch, but truck had too much power and pulled the friggen tire right off it. Still in the water.... so whatever dragged it up the hill and left it there. I'll get to it tomorrow. New axle, and crossmembers.... and I get to do it on the side of the hill at the launch.

Wont let me post pics but Sunday we dropped into the beaver river on HWY 41 north of Bonnyville and went downstream into Saskatchewan to the HWY 21 bridge south of pierceland. 140 mile round trip.
Usually this time of year its way to shallow but the water is higher then it was in the spring.
Nice to be able to do some rive boating around home this late in the summer!

Beautiful on the Wapiti today , was all cleaned up but a little rain in the hills has muddied it up again , so much nicer when its clean . Wapiti has really changed yhis year , as it gets lower it keeps you on your toes, fun.
