I guess you just need to look for snow in the not so common areas. We rode Clemina Saturday, and had fresh tracks pretty much all the time...Mind you we rode in technical terrain..

No kidding....We were talking that a snocross sled with a mountain ski stance would have been a blast this weekend.

Lol. Probably be fun snow, on a 146. Hero snow is so boring, better than nothing, but powder is so much more fun.

Sun and frigid temps have been the theme for this holiday season. The weather forecast is showing a few flakes over the next few days and we are dancing like mad cause we need it! The alpine has been hit very hard by weather and riders over the last few weeks with very little snowfall. The riding conditions are not perfect but the trails are in amazing shape and it’s always good to get out on your sled.

It is extremely important that all riders respect the riding area boundaries. In times of less than stellar conditions, we can see people begin to look into the closure areas for a fresh track. This cant happen. There will be patrols over the holiday season, so lets all be good people and show everyone the true respect that we as sledders have for our industry.

We like to hear from you. Please let us know what you find out there by posting riding conditions and pictures on our Facebook page or by tagging @ridevalemount in your Instagram and Facebook posts.

All three areas Groomed up fresh tonight and throughout the holiday season.

Oh lighten up.

Curtis has been super honest that the snow is ****.

And he wasn't saying you need to hire a guide, he was just making fun of you for not being able to find snow on your own. Lol

Did you expect GPS coordinates to his secret stashes?

Don't **** on the people that are good for the sport....... We need them.

Keep the crowds in Vale, we are enjoying great snow and no crowds, 30 mins down the road. If you need to hire a guide to find snow, sounds like you need a new spot that isn't hit by 400 guys a weekend lol

Last year I took my Gps and on a real cold day I rode the perimeter of two riding areas in valemont. VARDA provides the google earth outlines on there site. Now if it looks like there is some traffic I just head a little closer to the perimeter. The info is right there guys. I think it’s ridiculous that a guy will buy a $17k sled but not a $500 Gps. Lol. Or drive 17 hours to ride and not know what the riding area is called

Are you kidding me? Getting a little pissy cause it hasn't snowed in three weeks and it is minus a billion? I know cat and was joking around, he is very capable of finding snow.

I'm as honest as they come with conditions and they are the chits right now. Sorry bud but I cant make it snow.

Ride safe

Thanks Mark,

That is some constructive criticism we can work with. I understand your thoughts about the avys and snowpack data as we do push safety pretty hard around here. Believe me, when there is snow we talk a lot about it, but this December has been a bust. Ill see how we can rework our reports to discuss general use a bit more at times, but user numbers wont provide you with a tonne of data. Most people stick to the goat paths. It's times of extended drought that make the biggest impact on the areas. Ill see what I can do, but the place that will be updated more often is our website or facebook page, so I suggest looking there as well.

Any other suggestions or comments, feel free to email them our way. We are always looking to improve what we do here.

Ride safe.
