Found a good deal on a 2012 m1100 turbo
brand new. Is the 12 ok or spend the extra
dollars on a 13-14. Thanks

nothing wrong with the '12 the difference is a slight weight savings between the 3 years and the '12 has a wider ski stance and doesn't have the vertical steering post.. other than that put the Speedworks 240 kit in it and smile.

The 12 does not have vertical steering. It also has the wide front end. also I think the 13 had a 2.6 track instead of the 2.5. So you will have to spend about 1200 to get the 12 to be the same as the 13. Biggest problem is most 12's had huge belt problems which most dealers are incapable of fixing. Some 13's had problems to. The are a few dealers here who have figured out the problems and fixed them. Be prepared to give these guy your money. then your 1100 will be fine. I would stay away from a stock 12 unless its really cheap. why do think there is such a good deal on it. these things listed for $15000. they have depreciated 4-5000 sitting at the dealer. that should tell you a lot. If your prepared to spend 5000 on it you will have a good sled.

I've got a '12 with the Speedwerx kit in it and have 1700 km's on the original belt. Fun to ride but at the end of the day I am beat and tired. Haven't done the clutch update to it yet but at the moment why. I haven't blown a belt yet. Do have it up for sale cause this winter has gotten in the way of trying to get out sledding. Christmas was the last time I rode and that trip was cut short due to coming down with the flu while in Valemount.
