yah....if your at 5000-10000 start at 480 and check ur plugs.

but dont jump to 460 you need to work there slowly. the risk isnt worth the reward.

some people that run the rkt cylinder head can get way down to 450/460 no problem as its more efficient

I just took the stock pistons out of my 09 163x to install a RK Tek 860, the wash on the pistons looked perfect with the stock jetting. I know after looking at the piston wash there is no way I would have felt comfortable jetting down any. This was with a Super Q can. I installed the 860 kit and installed 460 jets as recommended by Kelsey.

On my brothers 08 XPX ,dyna single,Ypipe,v-force,flowrites in the carb box,Motts 13:1 head, stock 480 jets. we pulled the plugs in revy up top the plugs looked great. We were going to drop a size but not going to now. I never tried it stock. Probably could.

Side note if your knock senser alarms in, check your plugs!

Checking plugs could be an indication of only your last pull the only way to know is to look at piton wash. The 08 air intake is different so I would be cautious on the 08

Well not sure what to do. In the mountains when you mash the throttle I leave a nice big black streek in the snow. But I also ride a fair bit around home when there is snow so nit this year yet. But the elevation is about 2200' on average around here. Matbe I will call the local dealer and see what he says.

Check your DPM it may not be working correctly......remove the silver solinoid and spray with WB40.....had to do it on both my sleds....watch for the 2 O rings when you pull it out...

ran 460 with dynoport setup and was still a bit rich, i checked the wash also and the piston was really fat also. 460 runs perfect in stock sleds and you will feel the difference in crispness of the throttle.

on all our sleds we jet to 460/470

Be care full i have a 08 800 xp i jetted down to a 460 at 2500 feet i didn't work better it worked good on the bottom end but she was running out of fuel on the top i put the 490 jets back in it & it works good again
Just a note i have D.J. ramps heilx solid pins crank shop pipe y pipe mbrp can 2 x 2'' flow rite in the back of the air box the sled works very good in the mountion but i also leve a little back behind when i take off it doesn't do this had home at 2300 feet i am not going to worry about it
Here is a fact you cann't have a sled that will good in the mountions & in the low lands
I am going to leve it the way it is & build a low land sled this summer it will be a 04 to a 0 MXZ 800 body with a 809 triple in it yes triple 200 + HP 144 x 2'' track yes i wont 120 mile a hour trail sled lets face it the summits were not made to ditch bang that is y they are being al bent up just my 2 cents worth
