AST 1 Prince George Feb 8/9 | Hangfire Training

Hangfire will be doing an AST 1 in PG on Feb 14/15 2015 according to their website. This course is an absolute must have for any sledders heading out to the backcountry, and also a good refresher for those already with their AST 1. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rev 800 survives avalanche at cataract

Well, not much to say that hasn't been said already. Unreal stupidity in the backcountry. If anything good can come of it, maybe this video can be used by avy instructors to show students WHAT NOT TO DO, and WHERE NOT TO RIDE. Crazy that this day and age with all the heightened awareness of avy...

Snow and Mudders, fight the caribou!….closures.

Signed this awhile ago and shared on my FACEBOOK wall, and I managed to recruit quite a few to sign as well. Very good points, Tam. We need to all band together and let the government know they can't tell us where we can and can not ride! ENOUGH! There is no proof that sledding impacts the...

How Do You Get A Moose Of The Trail ?

I saw this on FB a couple days ago and was shocked. This guy is a cruel, heartless IDIOT! Why on earth would you need to be packing around a Glock when you're sledding in the first place? He seemed to be pretty quick on the draw as well, so makes me think what else this moron would be shooting...

    Torpy/Mcgregor area 2013/2014 riding conditions

The Torpy staging area is about 80kms from PG so it's a fair jaunt. We usually leave town around 7:30 am to have a good days ride out there. The staging area is 40 kms from the actual riding area, so you need to pack fuel. We are staging at the Old McGregor camp right now.

    Torpy/Mcgregor area 2013/2014 riding conditions

We are extremely lucky to have the type of awesome sledding we do literally out our backdoor. I agree with SledMamma that it isn't a place that you just take off to and ride, like some other well known riding areas in BC. It truly is a hidden gem. My hubby and I have been riding the area for...

Need sled pics for our website

I have some pics from the 2013 Tabor HillClimbs in Prince George....and yes the only lady participating is our very own SledMamma! Feel free to use some of these pics if they are suitable for your website 😊 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Huh?! What the heck Cat

I agree, Modman. My hubby has the 13 LTD with the front cooler....and the ice build up he saves over the ice build up on my 12 is CRAZY. He has overheated a couple times in marginal, hard packed conditions but as long as he could find a bit of snow to kick up in there it was fine. I'm riding a...

    Huh?! What the heck Cat

As far as I know the only mountain sleds with tethers as standard equipment are the two Special Editions (David McClure & Rob Kincade) and the HCR. I really think Arctic Cat should be putting tethers on ALL of their mountain machines, not just a select few!

    Tobe 2.0 gear

I've been wearing a TOBE jacket for my second season, and I have nothing but good things to say about it! Previously wore Klim, but was bored with their colors. I wanted something bright that stood out, and would be warm and dry. I have ridden in all sorts of conditions, from cold to warm, rainy...

AST 1 Prince George Feb 8/9 | Hangfire Training

Awesome to hear! I really hope there is enough peeps signing up so that the course can run....would be a shame if it was cancelled due to lack of participation. Might as well do it now while we are patiently waiting for snow! :)

What do you do for Avalanche Assessment?

Done the survey! Awesome idea! A tool like this would definitely be welcome to sledders that want to keep safe in the backcountry. Along with the other avy tools that we carry, a tool that could assess the snowpack to likelihood of slides, and to "read" the layers in the snowpack without...

    14 m8000 mountain ready

Definitely aftermarket skis and a can! I'm running the SLP PowderPro skis and an MBRP can on my 2014. I really wish Arctic Cat would make a decent mountain ski....I find the stock ones dive too much in the deep stuff. No problem with the clutching on the 14's....I'm not running a vent kit and...

question about ridding on warmer days

The 13's and 14's only have the front heat exchanger unless you have the one with electric start. I have a 12 with the back heat exchanger and no issues with overheating, however my hubby's 13 overheats on hardpacked even with the scratchers down. I'm riding a 14 this year and I've overheated a...

    2.6 powerclaw opinion

I had the 2.5 CE on my 2012 ProClimb, now I'm riding the 2014 with the 2.6 PowerClaw. There is a HUGE difference in performance between the two tracks, the PowerClaw doesn't trench like the CE and really shines in the deep stuff. Absolutely LOVE the handling of the track in deep conditions...

    Torpy/Mcgregor area 2013/2014 riding conditions

Just a heads up for peeps heading to the Torpy this weekend. The recent huge snowfall and the wind gusts will likely be producing very unstable conditions, particularly on wind loaded slopes which can result in slab avalanches. Be aware and ride safe. Carry your gear and know how to use it. If...

    proclimb trenching

I have a 12, my hubby a 13....noticeable difference in the way these two sleds handled in regards to flotation and maneuverability! So...we dropped the skid in mine to 13 specs, added a 2.5 CE and a anti-stab kit. What an absolute difference this upgrade has made, I definitely recommend it for...
