Can someone send me a link to a map of the staging area or directions to the staging area. Going to spend some time trying to find this, but havent any luck yet.

This is all I have for direction to get there. Hope it helps.... took from another thread. :D

GOOSE TOWER DIRECTIONS........SWAN HILLS, ALBERTA.

Go through Whitecourt, take a right at the Big Casino(Fuel up at the Husky near there if u need to) Follow that road till u get to Swan hills, approximately One Kilometre after Swan hills, Take a left onto a Gas plant road, about 8-10km's in you take a left turn on a Y split(I’m not 100% about the 8-10km's) Once you take a left, follow that road, till u see a little turn off(like a rest area almost), and there’s a little shack. When u turn off to the little rest area it leads back onto the main road, rather than trying to turn around at a dead end.

Best directions I can give you. Have a good ride... BE SAFE
There is a big green highway sign that ses pengroth gas plant(turn left) in about 5-10k the road takes a hard right, go straight through(there will be a sign that ses goose tower road is it yellow.....then stay on this road till km 26 Y this is where I unload on the right. road is crappy

that only applies if they plow the road from the y, last year they didnt and we had to unload at the y and ride in, might be good for now till we get more snow then it drifts in pretty bad

From what I remember, there are many different spots you can start from. When we went, there were trucks parked at everywhere. :D

Kinda like whitecourt yesterday. Just picked a spot and went. Had a hard time finding the main trail but after that it was easy. Coming back found out where I missed the turn in.

to get there by way of 33......go through barrhead, turn left at the stop sign after you leave town, continue until ft. assinboin, turn left at "T" after ft assiniboin, that will take you strait to swan hills.....easiest staging area to find is go striat through swan hills to the "T" intersection....go strait through that "T" onto the gravel road, take second left into the pump jack.

once on sled leave staging area and ride the cut line right beside the road north. that will put you right on the trail, if you continue to follow that north for a little ways you will eventually hit a trail intersection with signs pointing you to the different trail loops......

have fun, great riding area

5 of us today. Had a good ride but the snow had a pretty good crust on it. Nice area though. Hopefully they get more snow soon. A log was found today too that did some damage, but we got it out ok.

Snow was not to bad 1 to 1 1/2 feet. No base sat found lot of trails no one rode on yet could have used a chain saw or even better hand saw. lots of trees down west of swan hills on the golden triangle

Always a good idea to have a folding pruning saw in the sled. you'd be surprized how little time it takes to cut through a 3 or 4" tree.

Wish I was here this weekend to go with you. When I'm back in January I'll post up and try to connect with whoever wants to ride (new to AB).
