Does anyone have any real world experience with these trucks?

Curious on their longevity and real world fuel mileage.

That’s funny first post after being asked about a 2.7.... “I have a 3.5” instant highjack, lol. Hey I have a 6.7 Cummins it gets 12.5L/100 cruising at 110.

Does anybody even drive a 2.7, I don’t know anyone, this may help him decide too go for more power, although I guess he could buy a Cummins diesel eh lol

Talked to a guy that had one. Was good on fuel in town but not the highway. Was struggling at 120. No good if you plan on pulling a trailer. I would go with the bigger motor personally

if I was buying a Ford gasser, I would go with the 5 liter or 6.2 if you want reliability.

I have 15 f150 2.7l. 10.7 on highway at 110km. Never touched the oilpan yet has 98000km. Only thing i have done is the lh turbo line for blue smoke on start up.I probably would buy another one.

I know guys are experimenting with them in jet boats. There way quieter than a sport jet.

Steve at Firefish is putting some together with the 2.3L Indmar ecoboost, will be one forsale at Windsor Motorsports according to their Facebook page. I even talked to him about them, problem is a 2.3 ecoboost is only a couple grand cheaper than a V8 when paired with a 212. They won't really be cost competitive until Indmar releases their ecoboost pump which will be cheaper than a 212.

And they’re a heavy motor for a 4 cylinder. They seem to work really good! I am wanting to see the pump they are making to. I see custom weld just built one to, 20’ boat and put 11 guys in and got on step good. But they used a at 309.

Yeh I wouldn’t be jumping on the band wagon for a couple years until it’s been proven .
They talk 5 year warranty?? Lol
Try and get it and read fine print ? That goes for any of them . Doesn’t cover pulling out , shipping , or changeover of any parts from what I have seen .
Hard to beat the old 350 as simple and been around for years and parts everywhere .

My thoughts to! Small boosted motors don’t have the best track record

Meh, I like my little 3 cylinder supercharged rotax. Cost is super cheap too, I can do an impeller and wear ring for under $500, last time I checked a rebuilt long block was $3k, and I really have to want to get somewhere to use all of my 120 liters of fuel in a day. The worst part is the $600 supercharger rebuild every 100hrs.

Granted I'm rarely more than 1500lbs total weight, not the heavy tubs most people are running that need V8 power.

Yah the small power sports based motors seem to do better. I was more talking about the automotive based motors.
