I am getting so fawking tired of this BS. Americans buy anything cheap, usually comes with free shipping while we get bent over by everyone along the way trying to make a buck. Doesn't matter if it is parts for my sxs or parts for my furnace.

What has me so pissed off today that I need to buy and get totally raped over? My downstairs furnace wasn't lighting. So I go look at it and find the issue. It helps that I have an upstairs furnace and downstairs furnace, both of which are identical and sit beside each other. Anyways, I turn up the upstairs one and it fires. Turn on the other and it doesn't. I haven't played with this type before but find the ignitor is toast. So I go online to try and find one. In the States they run from 15-25 bucks average. Now I look at all the box stores and no one has them but all these other small parts places do. The cheapest ones I can find are $75 and the most expensive ones I have found are $128.

So just because I'm a proud Canadian ill find one locally or order online and bend over as usual just to take it up the ass. WTF

Yes, it is a pita...............It is nice to live close to the border and have a Montana mailing address. But on the other hand, my cheap American money has run out and even though I can buy cheap gas down there everything costs more than it should.

Did you check Amre Supply? They still won't have US prices, but they are DEFINITELY more inline with their pricing than the big "hardware" stores.

Edit..... Ha. Dammit. Ric was quicker on the keyboard than I.

Take a little sand paper to the end. Usually gets them working again for a little while

Extreme is exactly right, sand paper or emery cloth for the flame sensor only (steel rod in the last burner). Be careful to not touch the ignitor, the old style are brittle and oil from your fingers could cause premature failure. If there is a steel bracket don't throw it out, you will need it. In fact don't throw anything out until you open the new one. If it is not identical be sure it lights easily. If not adjust the location so you don't get a gas build up.
