I want to go to Blairmore area on Monday the 24th. I have never been but want to make sure there is enough snow to go. Can anybody fill me in as to the conditions in the area?

Rode from York Creek staging area in Coleman on Sunday the 16th. Had a mix of light snow, low light and blue sky through the day. Conditions were great, good snow on trails, in trees and on the bowls. Looked like some fresh fell a day or two before we arrived because ours were almost first tracks on the bowls. The roads in the area are thin, if you ride them to access areas use your ice scratchers to keep from melting hyfaxes. Creek snow coverage is thinning with open areas but still able to cross at most points.

Only pics I have are from cell phone camera. I'll see if I can post a couple from Lost Lake area.

If you go, post the conditions, I'm thinking of another little trip down.

Happy Easter!

We stayed in Blairmore and rode the pipeline on the BC side this past Friday and Saturday. The trail in was whooped up, but the snow in the trees and in the bowls off the pipeline was great. It "was" untracked when we got there, but not anymore :D 14inches or so of powder. Weather was a little over cast on Friday but Sunny all day on Saturday. Will post pics later.

Road there also friday and saturday, and yeah the trail is abit rough but got back to The Notch and snow was great I made the first trail in and it was awsome in the trees. to bad the weekend was plagued with problems 2 guys had break downs and i ended up being the guy on a summit pullin an old cat powder special with a ghost rider. That was exciting (for everyone else to watch) but not for me.

We just got 12 INCHES OVERNIGHT the night of the 24th here at the Inn and it is fantastic out back in the Alpine. Our trail is groomed to Corbin Hwy but the Flathead is rough - who cares, small price to pay for the snow in the bowls. Beware avalanches - Know before you go - www.avalanche.ca/bulletins/current bulletins/southrockies. We've decided to go ahead and keep taking bookings for resort guests into April!

Thanks to all who posted conditions in Blairmore area. We just returned from there and we had 3 great days. We went south of Colmen the first day and to Fernie the second and north of Colmen today till we broke down with one sled. Snow was good in most places with exception to some trails a little packed and rough. The little fresh snow was great to have. Yes there is avalanches in the area. Still lots of snow to play in in all areas. My wife was out to the mountains for the first time and loved it. She just does not understand why we try to high mark. She just loved the scenery and being there with great sunshine and warm days.
Guess it is time to put the sleds away and start thinking about quads in these areas. Looks like there could be lots of good trails and places to see this summer.
Until next time thanks!

Rode York Creek area on Sunday March 30th. Fresh snow all over, untracked areas waiting to be spoiled. An awesome day even with cloudy, light snow and flat light. When we got to Lost Lake it was really snowing out, mostly covering our tracks in. Best snow I've ridden on in the Pass, even better than the snow two weeks prior. Didn't take a camera, planned to ride all day. So I used the crappy camera on the cell phone to get a pic or two.
