Hello, I live in South Texas, not exactly a place full of snow riding but I don't mind driving 1000 + Miles to ride snowmobiles. I'm married with 2 kids (Boy 7 n Girl 8). We just returned from a trip to Gunnison/Crested Butte Colorado just so we could ride snowmobiles for 2 hours. My wife and I each have a Polaris RZR 800, mine's Red, her's is Green.

The whole point in me signing on to this website was to learn the BEST possbiel way for us to trailer our RZR's up in the mountains, probably back to Crested Butte or South Lake Tahoe, we LOVE both places.

That's pretty much me, not real exciting! So.........HI! I hope to learn a lot about riding in snow and the equipment necessary to make our Snow Adventures fun and MOST of all SAFE.................can't afford to get stuck in the middle of NOWHERE with my Wife and Kids. Gonna do some research on what I need to do to the tires to make em work better on ice, I have 2 sets of tires for my Red RZR so hopefully there is something that I can do to my spare set for Icy Conditions!

Thanks for reading my BS!!!!

Welcome to the site!!

Though I am not a sledder, I do a lot of quadding up here (four wheeling for you Texans) and I am in Texas quite often. I spend a lot of time on 2 wheels in the Houston area. I often think of bringing the sport quad down there.

Anyhow, have fun, and be safe!

Cool! Why is that? You've never met a Texan before??? HAHA.......You're North of the Border, CORRECT???? I thought yall didn't like us, especially Texans! I must warn ya though, I'm a conservative and supported G.W. Bush TWICE!!! But don't let that get in your way!!! We have a wonderful common interest, offroading!!! That's ALL that matters here!!

I appreciate the compliment! Even though I'm probably the ONLY Texan you've ever talked to! But I'll act like you've had a lot to choose from!! HAHA!

I've been to Calgary before, back in the early 80's though! Beautiful place! The one thing I remember the most for some strange reason was the fact that there was still snow on the ground in Summer! Most of yall from up North take the snow for granted, us southern folks think of snow as just the coolest thing cause we never see it! When we were in Colorado last week, I would literally wake up my entire family at 2am so they could see the snow falling! HAHA! Weird I know! But it's all in what you're used to! It's really a big deal if it snows at home, we don't have road plows or salt trucks available. But we only get snow, more of a dusting, about once every 5-10 years. Schools close if the temp gets to freezing but it'll get back up to 75 degrees a couple days later! I would be the Official lunatic on my street if I showed up with a snowmobile some day!!!

I've ALWAYS LOVED riding off-road, I've had all these throughout my life, Go Carts, Golf Carts, 2 wheelers (Dirt Bikes and Street Bikes), 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, 6 wheelers, Side X Sides (RZR, John Deere Gators, etc....), Watercraft (Sea Doos, Waverunners, Jet Skis, etc....), Boats, Jeeps, 4X4 Trucks but I have NEVER owned a Snowmobile! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE riding SnowMobiles but senseless to buy one. That's why I would love to take mine and my wife's RZR's out in the mountains and drive on the snow. I would spend the Money to have the BEST set of tires for Snow/Ice to put on the RZR's even if we got to use them once or twice a year, it would be worth it! The tires would probably dry rot before they were worn out but it would ALL be worth it to me. I could spend an entire vacation just to drive on the snow somewhere with tons of snow. I packed up the wife and kids last week, drove 1300+ miles (1 way) just to go ride Snowmobiles in Colorado. We bought a private tour through the mountains, 2 hours of riding total time but it was all worth it! I get the biggest kick outta riding on snow and ice for some reason. I'm sure a lot of you get a little sick of the snow but it's AWESOME to me, my wife and kids.

Looks like I'm the lone Texan on the map! Lots of Western Canada.

Have yall seen this map of everyone's location?

Actually I'm in the oil and gas business, been to Texas many times. Anybody who drives 1000 miles to go sledding is OK in my books. As for GW a lot of people don't know that he actually did a lot of good for the USA, it just gets overshadowed by the other stuff. You should get a load of our politicians up here, most of them have to screw their socks on in the morning they are so crooked.

Well Mitch and family, welcome to the site . I don't sled, but my family camps and quads all summer, 4 months to wait still. If you like sledding so much why don't you move up here to Alberta, the economy is doing much better than anywhere in the states I am sure and you can sled and quad year round. You would be more than welcome.

Thanks a lot for all the warm welcomes!

Would love to live Winters somewhere with LOTS of snow but in a Family Business down here, I'd be completely broke if I moved! Been working for my Dad since High School, some 20+ years now! No one else would hire me!!! HAHA! I wouldn't have ANY toys if I tried to break out on my own!! Maybe I can talk him in to some additional office locations???
