Hi Everyone,

The Sundre Fire Department will be hosting it's annual poker Rally on August 1st on the Crown land West of Sundre. There will be lots of people camping all weekend. Camping is free but self contained as there are no services. Cost of the ride is $5 per poker hand or $20 for 5 hands. The course is approximately 60 km long and is not for inexperienced riders. This is a fundraiser for the Sundre Fire Rescue Society and there will be raffles for some great prizes and we will be selling burgers on the day of the ride. This is a popular ride with 436 bikes last year.

Registration starts at 10 am. To get there go West out of Sundre on Hwy 584(Hwy 27) approximately 19 km and follow the signs!

No registration required until the day of the ride when you will buy your poker hands.

Are they using the Snowmobile trails? Who will fix the trails up after the rally? 450 atvs will sure do some issues with the snowmobile trails. Just asking need to consider who trails are being used even if on Crown Land. JMHO

The staging area is down the road from the BP Compressor station. If you are familiar with the area it is on the South James Road at the yellow gate by the gravel pit.

It is a very good point about trail getting chewed. We have been hosting this ride for almost 20 years now and there is a dedicated crew of guys that goes out almost every weekend starting very soon to maintain the trail and build bridges where necessary. We move portions of the ride from year to year to give the trail a chance to recoup. We have taken ownership over trail out there and make every effort to keep it in good shape and be good enviromental stewards while enjoying everything the west country has to offer.

Thanks for your interest!
