Sportsman Winch - Won't reel in?

On my Sportsman 500....have used this winch maybe three times. It will freespool out, and will go out when I push the out button, but won't come in at all. Any ideas?

I've heard of this before on these polaris winches....does solenoid sound right? If so, where the heck is this holed up at?

follow the wires from your winch back to a "block" that is the solenoid.

Also does it spool in if you connect power to the motor directly?

The contactor is usually under the left rear fender at the frame.

12 500, ahead of the front right wheel behind facia. reverse wires on winch, if it goes in and not out it's the contactor. those polaris winch kits are terrible. I try to talk people out of them.

Thanks guys. It seems pretty common. I will take a look. Thing that bugs me is that I've only used the winch like twice!

My wife's vinsion did that.

Took the controller out and apart.

There 2 jumper wires from the switch inside.

One broke the solder on the connection.

Soldered back up and worked 100%
