smoke from quad why?

Blue smoke(Burning oil) or Black smoke(running rich)? Or White Smoke(burning coolant)?

No coolant on that unit...

Honda's will smoke blue a bit, especially on deceleration and gear changes. That is just how they are.

Check oil regularly on level ground. If it smokes all the time it might need rings and cylinder bored, Might as well do the head too. If it only smokes after start up oil is leaking past valve stems.
