Sliding sheave bushing retainer clip

Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to remove the factory circlip that holds in the sliding sheave bushing? I'm open to ideas before I wreck the groove trying to dig it out.

The ends of the clip taper down and overlap. They didn't even put a little tab to pry it out with. The end has an angle but not enough to pry on. It's a terrible set up.

I had Specialty do one for me once and he used a chisel to cut a small V into the groove above the clip ends. Seemed to work well but I'm looking for any other ideas before I commit to that.

Just need a small pick to pry the end of the retaining clip out and then get a small flat blade screw driver in behind the retaining clip and then start working the clip out - u may distort the retainer but if u get a maintenance clutch kit a new retainer comes with kit

Patience and picks. They do come out. Specialty did my clutch once as well and same thing chiseled a window but i have done many since but need patience

Got it out! Thanks guys. That's one of the worst clips I've ever had to get out. And I'm a millwright! Feel like a millwrong now though.

Replacement isn't quite the same. Looks like I'll just need longer bolts. Any reason why it won't work?

I think the kit I have if for a '14. Going into a '16 T3 154.
