Rear CV joint

O.K., my brother broke my rear CV joint on my 04 sportsmen 700. I bought a whole new axle kit with the cv joint and everything. One problem, I cannot for the life of me get the old part out of the rear differential. I tugged, twisted, pryed, slide hammer, you name it.

Any suggestions??

try pulling out the other ael on the other side and try using a punch to knock it out Thats what I had to do with the brute after I snapped a rear cv .
