In answer to the question, he was definitely one of the best. There have been a lot of great leaders born and raised in Alberta.

RIP King Ralph... A common man with very uncommon political beliefs. He stood up for what was right not what was "politically correct". Our sincere condolences to his family...

He understood that you CAN NOT spend more money than you take in. You would think that would be a simple concept but it has sure gone downhill since he left.

He understood basic economics...... and didn't operate the province like how a good chunk of people on this board live their life. Debt is not good....... no matter how you look at it but look at almost any person here and check that income to debt ratio........ So really now considering the economic state of the electorate is it any surprise that they wouldn't elect some braindead bitch that parades like she is the Queen of England and overspends because they based the budget on an unrealistic income value........ Nope.

He was a good man. Can you imagine if every politician had his honesty and integrity? He wasnt perfect, but he was close on the stuff that counts.

Ralph pulled hard for us working Albertans. And when we got together here in the Lakeland and asked for some help to afford a trail groomer & business plan, even though money was tight, Ralph stepped up with Danyluk Ducharme Broda and with that help, today 5 clubs here still share a (then new) BR180 and drag for the Iron Horse Trail.

Those that were there will never forget him in suit and dress shoes climbing up onto the trailer, over the tracks and thru the door to sit in the drivers seat as we showed him at a rest stop what he and the Province of Alberta helped its citizens to have for as long as we could fuel and maintain it.

RIP Ralph; a very good Albertan in many ways and thru challenging times.
