Any one know if a heat gun will release the glue ?

Its actually a solvent weld it melts the plastic together. You can bust the hub off if you cut it a couple times and use a chisel and hammer to salvage the pipe or cut it out and replace it.

I asked the guy at work today, Mike. He said just cut it, and go from there.

No disrespect intended but you should call someone to come help with more knowledge. Improper plumbing usually turns out bad in the long run.

Sacrifice the pipe to save the drain. After you cut the pipe off flush you can split it with a sharp wood chisel on the inside of the drain hub and peel/twist it out with a pair of pliers. Shorten the pipe, add a piece with a coupling, and re-use the drain assembly.

Meddler, had to do something like this at son in laws. We used a hacksaw blade and cut up and down as compared to across and made 4 cuts. I was able to pry the smaller parts off and then sanded the glue off.
Hope that makes sense.

Sent from my phone ---- is anyone listening ?
