Was in the process of installing my PAR 13.1 head when I noticed this on the PTO side cylinder wall. Sled is a 2012 with 1425 miles on it, bone stock motor, still under warranty. I am going to take a few more pics and send them to my dealer to see if they can make a warranty claim but my understanding is that Polaris won't do anything unless there's been a failure (I could be/hope I'm wrong here).

My question is, would you continue to run this sled knowing this? Is this that big of a deal? Or just keep running it and hope it blows near the trail or the truck? MAG side looks great and am getting 120/120 on a cold compression test. BTW, I put it back together stock

That's gotta be a warranty claim, but if you have to run it to failure it may make it past the end of your warranty. Good luck with your dealer.

Took it into my dealer this morning and its a warranty for sure. They stock all the parts so I'll have my sled back and on the snow for Friday. I think it really helps to have a good dealer in addition to the warranty.

No problems on the warranty claim and I was back on the snow breaking in the new top end this morning. Big thumbs up to MainJet for the fast turn around on this. Also, turned out that the cylinder skirt was cracked on the same side as the nikasil failure so pretty much a ticking time bomb. Sure love this sled but man these engines are hit or miss. Hope they have this worked out with the 2013's.
