Jeffrey Earnhardt the grandson of Dale Earnhardt senior will sit on the poll at Talladega racing a Richard Childress car with the number 3 on the side. He will have Larry McReynolds on the pit box crew chief if for him. When’s the last time a Earnhardt, Childress and a McReynolds were in a picture together on race day?

Weird deal at NASCAR Cup pre tech for qualifying tomorrow. Almost the entire field failed inspection because the composite body’s were out of spec. They blamed it on the high heat at the racetrack so the teams ran the cars through tech once again with crew members holding umbrellas over the cars. Everyone but 2 cars passed on the second try. Hard to believe the cars can lose shape in the heat. More learning to be had on the new car I guess?

Interesting to see that the Cup cars are 6/10 of a second slower than the Xfinity cars around the track in qualifying trim.
