I got 10-40 for gasoline engines. I heard of some folks using 15-40 diesel oil... Good? Bad??

I'm kind of an oil nerd.. was reading if at all possible do not use diesel based oils in a gasoline engine, although they have better additive packages they lack the sheer strength which essentially translates to more wear on start up vs a gasoline specific oil.

Take it for what its worth..

The shell rotella for diesel, also has high zinc ect like older oils, if u look there is a older spark engine code designation, which is for older gas engines

I assume most will be the same, just have to make sure it's not just diesel oil

20/50. Castrol high performance 4 stroke motor cycle oil.
Ratings are high and for high load applications .

All the new Kodiac packages "example Ls 3 and LSA" call for the low viscosity oil.
5/30 Mobil 1

The Kodiak link I found called for ILSAC GF4 rated 10w-40 for 4.3 and 5.7. I found some conventional GF5 Pennzoil 10w-40 here in Eckville so I put it in. I wasn't really paying attention to the others but the 6.2 LS3 called specifically for Mobil1 5w-30.

Hey Joh, i've all way's used 20/50 in mine since new. My brand has been Castrol Syntech. At times i have had to special order it as some auto stores don't carry it. It is a race quality oil. Generally been getting it from Napa or Lordco.

Your motor in your jetboat will work alot harder then anything you will find on wheel's.
