Any glass place can order tempered glass to your spec. Get at least 6mm beveled edge.

My buddy keeps telling me the same thing,I just think the glass would be heavier and not want to slide on the rubber.worst comes to worst i might use plexiglass.

I'm not sure if you have any up there, but Pier 1 imports had two different sized round glass table tops for sale. Just the replacement glass, and at a fair price. Ebay, amazon, jet, someone has got to have a simple replacement glass top you can buy.

I did check ikea, they only had rectangular replacement glass.they have a table for $79 but its only 20" diameter.I think I've decided to go with 6mm tempered glass(not as thick as i wanted)for $80 at crystal glass. But ill keep my eyes open for thicker and replace it in the future.

There are other, harder types of plastic, polycarbonate, that are more scratch resistant. If you call somebody like Allwest Plastics or Plastic Plus, they can give you alternatives to tempered glass.
