does anyone know the purpose of pulling the skid back? here is the ad:

"MUST SELL-2008 Renegade, 146 x 16x 2.3"

Pulling the skid back will shallow up the approach angle of the track, making the sled climb better, trench less and get on top of the snow easier. Its also a way to lengthen the track without buying new rails or rail extensions. The guy selling that sled is my cousin...he's a straight shooter, takes care of his stuff and won't screw you around. If I hadn't just bought a new sled I totally would have picked that one up.

Thanks. I'm planning on doing mostly ditch banging and trail riding. Will this setup take the bumps and jumps on hard pack good too?

they didn't make a 146" renegade in '08. someone moved the 137" skid back and put a 146" track on it.

That would still make a real nice ditch banger but would still go good in the hills.
