Friday:
Registration - we pre-registered 2 1/2 hrs early, lol. We got there friday aft, around 3 pm, checked in to the hotel unloaded the sleds, and went right to the hall. They were open and setting up still, but welcomed us right away and signed us up. We were first! They were great. First 250 riders got a goodie bag (litre synth oil, coupons, pens, magnets, note pads, maps, mints, and the bag).
Trails - 2 major loops, north and south. Fri aft/night we did the south loop about 104km. Awesome, first 20k, kinda boring but the next 60 was all tree lined trails and dips and curves and lots of winding tracks. A couple fields to play in. Fields were great on both, about a ft of powder, but very soft. No wind both days.
Got back around 7 and had supper - OMG horrible service again at the Travelodge. Stay anywhere but there if you ever go.
Then went to the social at the hall and stayed till about 11:00 or so
Saturday:
Up at 7:30, for breakfast at the hall at 8am.
Trails: Did the northern loop, up to Nipawin, then down to Tisdale for lunch. Then extended it back down to to the southern loop. Did about 260k all day. Back to hotel for shower, then off to hall for supper, awards, dance.
The Melfort club really did an outstanding job organizing this. Everything was laid out very well. A TON of prizes, buy raffle tickets and put them in the bucket of the prize you want. They drew all the numbers during the speeches - which were also quick, once done the posted them and you could check on your own, made it very easy. They also had a silent auction for 5 items - winter wear, helmet, heat stove, painting, and a few yards of concrete.
Supper was UNBELIEVABLE - great spread
Band was fun, good night.
Sunday:
Got up early and did the south loop again - beautiful. Another 100k, Smitty's for lunch, then headed home.
Great rally over all.
Notable omissions:
- no poker hands?
- no sleddding sponsor booths or demos, thought there would be.
Only thing that sucked was the TRAVELODGE - gong show from start to finish. DO NOT stay there. Cara Valla has twice the quality for half the price.
Best things:
- Trails and signage - outstanding
- shelters - wow, insulated, siding, maps, awesome
- organization - like I said, VERY well run
- free shuttles, from all hotels/homes to and from the main hall, round the clock, awesome.

Next year in FlinFlon, we booked our hotel already.
