Hi All, I've done some searching to see if there is any specific instructions as to how to check compression on the Assault RMK 800. Also, wondering what numbers I should want to see. I've read of guys anywhere from 95psi to 135psi. I know there will be some variation between metering tools, as well as elevation, and whether or not person has held throttle open to test. Also read that Polaris has intenionally built this motor to run on lower compression to eliminate detonation issues.

Here is what I am planning to do to test...cold motor.

Key off and out, kill switch in the "kill" position.
Remove side panels and hood.
Disconnect electric connectors to fuel pump.
Remove both spark plugs.
Insert tester in one plug tap, hold throttle W/O and pull for 6 (ish) pulls,
repeat for opposite cylinder. Note and compare numbers, be happy and ride...lol

Does this sound about right or have I missed something?

Thx for your help!!

Various research I've done says to hold throttle open to have maximum air flow through the engine and get more accurate results...open to opinions/education if this is false information...
