Keep hearing that aftermarket heads wake these motors up. I'm looking at a Moutain Tek 12.5-1. Anyone know anything about these or have tryed one?

I started a thread on the same thing earlier and the consensus was power addiction 13.1 head. Sounds like more mid to top end and still keep the reliability.

From what I'm at the Polaris dealership is when you get to 13. Your looking at race fuel. And I don't want that.

Power addiction says their 13.1 head is recommended for 2000-5000 ft elevation on premium fuel. They use a completely different dome design than stock which allows them to run higher compression without detonation. Lots of guys on hear ran them last year with no issues.

Power addiction claims their 12.5 head is good for 0-3000 ft, 13.1 is 3-6000 for and the 13.6 if for 5 to 10,000 ft. All on 92 octane pump gas. I sold and installed 6 sets of 13.1 heads for the valemount area (6000 ft) last year, and not one issue unless you get some shitty fuel. If you dont know how old the fuel is that you are buying, then adding a little race fuel is good peace of mind

good to know. how about light (slow) driving around Edm (taking the kids for a poke). will the 13.1 be ok if one doesn't push it?
