Ok ok I'll chime in ...
Lotsa guys destroying gear. As said, quartz can be fun and then expensive.
We had 10 bikes at hope yesterday and a brand new,2nd day on it cmx skid was bent. Many unseen land mines were hit by everyone. One guy hit a rock, bike stopped and he flew violently over the bars. Bike seemed ok.
About 60cm deep at the meadow up the back. If I'm correct, that is about 1900m.
Maybe this system will bring enough snow to give luv but at this stage I have to say don't go to hope on a sled coz someone in your group is going to wreck. It's just too thin. Easily half of quartz. Having a said that, there is a base under there with nice pow on top. We were walking almost knee deep.
The alpine around here is boney at best, and unrideable in many places.
The trees are where it's at.
The road in is fine and getting smoother every drop of snow but is slick. 8km hill is 4x4.
Everyone is saying the same things about the areas they have riden.
Patient you shall be young Jedi...

Rode Quartz yesterday with no expectations and simply to scratch the itch and get the first ride done. Very light treading and even with that we had one sled limping out with some bent parts. Top of the world base was 30-50cm at best. Couple good storms and we will be into early December conditions but a long ways from anything amazing.

50cm is just enough to "hide" rocks from one's vision but not from one's a arms.
At hope at 2100m so just above tree line was tops 30cm. Just walking around we found landmines everywhere.
I'm surprised more gear wasn't wrecked, but thankfully bikes tend to bounce off landmines better than a sled. I would have been scared to be on a sled there. Skipping logs was common.

I seen they are grooming quartz and bringing the cabin up to Gorman this weekend silent will start grooming next week. There is 3-4 feet and hazzards. I’m sneaking out of work right now and will have a report tomorrow on the area we choose to ride probably silent

Still low snow. If you go off the beaten trail expect xmas trees and rocks and creeks. Still worth it though to get some fresh air

Buddy was at Gorman Friday. Trail to the lake no problem. They considered going up into Holt but vis said no.
Yestdy we went to hope ck. 7 sleds total. Trail in is starting to get some whoops.
In the back meadow I probed 103cm standing on a spot we our crew had lunch 2weeks ago and couldn't see any of our tracks. Very supportive base. The meadow is mostly tracked out now.
Don't know about alpine as trees r the place to be
