Ft. Assiniboine boat launch and camping

Havent boated from Ft.Assiniboine yet. With the recent rain I am wondering if that area would be worth going for a cruise this weekend? Is there some neat things along the river to see? Any major obsticles to worry about? Also can you camp at or near the boat launch?

The boat launch you could camp there but it’s just a parking lot. Be better going up stream to 5 mile island area lots of nice camping and fishing there. Pretty straightforward trip if you can read a river. Better camping is a the Vega ferry and can launch there to. But better boating near the fort more.
