Trax 2 Treadz is pleased to announce the addition of a new company to our list of premier manufacturers we represent; Cyclops Motorsports
Cyclops was founded by lifelong powersports enthusiast Darryl VanNieuwenhuise in 2002. Darryl being a hard core dirt bike rider/racer and snowmobiler got the idea for a helmet mounted light after the new purchase of a KTM dirt bike.
Darryl started to do some night riding as the KTM was the first bike he had owned with a headlight. “I couldn’t wait to get out and do some night riding; it became clear very quickly that the stock KTM light just was not going to cut it”
After upgrading the headlight Darryl was still unimpressed with the results. The answer, a helmet mounted light. Since you can see where you look it seemed to be the best choice. Darryl being a Toolmaker/Machinist quickly made up a system for himself.
The first Cyclops light was a halogen 35 watt that ran from the KTMs electrical system.
Darryl soon started riding with his helmet mounted light, people saw it in action and began to ask where he got it. After some careful consideration Darryl and Sandra VanNieuwenhuise started Cyclops Motorsports with the original Nightlight stator powered helmet light, made from a rubber compound the light proved very durable and useful.
It soon found its way to top racers like Berry Hawk, Mike Penland and Travis Pastrana. Cyclops helmet mounted lights have set the bar high, with incredibly bright, durable and user friendly lighting systems.
But the VanNiewenhuise family didn’t just let the pros have all the fun. Darryl and his two sons race 24 hr events all across the US and Canada. The two boys are the youngest participants to ever race in the 24 hrs of Starvation Ridge at the ages 12 and 13. Racing with only helmet mounted lights the team has won many events. Look for them at a night race near you.
The addition of battery packs and HID/LED technology has helped make Cyclops Motorsports the leader in helmet mounted lights. Cyclops offers more helmet mounted lights than any other company.
Cyclops also believes that the customer comes first. Cyclops offers a lifetime warranty on their light housings and HID ballast.
Not a company to say this is good enough; Cyclops Motorsports continues to work on the latest technology available for the motorsports market, while also expanding into the Bicycle and Industrial markets.
