Change base gasket?

Just going to put a new jug and piston in my M1000. Common sense is telling me to replace the base gasket but I don't really feel like pulling off the other cylinder. Are these base gaskets reusable?

I beleive Cat manuals state they can be reused one time but to use a thin film of high temp silicone. I have been known to use a base gasket with sealant more than once.

just cut it in half.... they are only connected by a thin spot at either end... seen it done before... still going.
