Anyone tell me if the belt from M8 will run on an M1000?? Both '08. They appear the same length, diff. part #, however just want to know if they would interchange, even if only long enuf to get back to the lot. Thanks for any info.

Reason for asking is my grandson blew the belt on his M1000 on Sat. at Limestone. (You tube moment, over the bars) and then was tentative riding thereafter as didn't want to crater the only one left. We had an 800 along and wondered about using it's spare as an emergency way out. Thanks guys, Mark

Many people run the M8 (046) belts on the 1000's (060). the 060 belt costs more, is stickier and when it blows up it goes BOOM. I know guys that will run the 060 at low elevation and change over to the 046 higher up as the 046 will run about 200 RPM higher (they use it as a tuning tool). The 046 belt seems to get good milage even on the M1000.

Yeah I have run the 46 on my 1000... but on a more important/serious note.. do you have the video of his belt breaking and him going over the bars... because lets face it everyone loves to see that kind of stuff.

I changed over to the 046 belts on my M1000, had to add a bit more weight to my primary because as mentioned it reved 200 rpm higher. I have had no issues running the 046.
