Association of BC Snowmobile Clubs presenting a cheque to the CAC 2nd Largest Sponsor

The Association of British Columbia Snowmobile Clubs is now the second largest sponsor of the Canadian Avalanche Centre! Second only to the Canadian Avalanche Foundation! These proceeds are from the "Buck a Head" program and its participating clubs. The pic below was from Pentiction last week during the CAC / CAA annual general meetings

Anyone riding in Valemount has contributed to this as VARDA has donated over 15000 this year alone and we thank you ! Way to go sledders

Great work VARDA and ABC. Awesome teamwork as well, back country skiers provide a good portion of the data needed by the CAC, sledders are providing a large share of the funding and the CAC provides the avalanche bulletins that give us the information we need to venture into the back country in the winter time and thereby reduce injuries and fatalities. This program should make all back country sledders proud as you all contributed by purchasing trail passes throughout British Columbia this last winter. This program proves that sledders are not second class citizens in the back country as people like Mike Wiegle might have you believe.
